Our Story

Hi, I’m Brenda!  Born and raised in a family farming business in the countryside of Saskatchewan, small Canadian businesses have always been of great importance to me. At the age of 12, I discovered my love of creating clothing, and nine years later, I graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in Fashion Design. A few years after that, in 1983, I launched my first fashion line, and haven’t looked back since!

I am so proud to be Canadian, and be designing and manufacturing 100% in Canada. Over the years, fewer and fewer apparel manufacturers remain in Canada, as brands have been turning to cheaper, overseas labour. But to us, the benefits of keeping our manufacturing close to home far outweigh the obstacles! It allows me to give to people what I love to create, all the while creating jobs for Canadians. We get to develop great relationships with our contractors, can feel confident knowing that human rights and the environment are being respected, and leave a smaller carbon footprint on the world.

You sitting here and reading this is proof that chances are, you care about Made in Canada too! And for the support, I thank you wholeheartedly.

OUR ECO FABRICS - Moving towards a sustainable world.

Bamboo – With a texture similar to cashmere silk blends, this fabric is naturally breathable and wicks moisture away. Bamboo rapidly regenerates and is a carbon neutral fiber.

Modal – This cotton alternative is breathable and silky smooth to the touch.
It stays color fast and resists pilling and shrinkage.

Recycled Poly (in our denim) – Oekotex certified, meaning free of harmful chemicals. Using recycled polyester lessons our dependence on petroleum.
It takes 59% less energy to produce than virgin polyester.

Tencel (Lyocell) – With it's silk like in look and feel, Tencel is a winner.
It is an environmentally responsible closed loop production process, which transforms wood pulp into fibers with high resource and low environmental impact.

Linen – Made from the flax plant, it is very strong and absorbent, and becomes softer the more it is washed. It is exceptionally cool and fresh in hot, humid weather. Linen grows naturally and requires no extra water besides rainwater, making it the most eco-friendly fabric of all.

Simply search any of these fabrics in our search bar to take a look at the styles offered in that material!

There is a big possibility that trying on a pair of our pants has been what led you to our site! When people write me how much they love the fit of our pants, I light up inside. My passion is to make clothing that helps you look and feel your best on a daily basis so that you can shine your confident light on the world. Using natural, eco, stretch fabrics that provides the most flattering look to all body shapes, you CAN have a polished look that fits you and feels great from top to bottom!

I'd love to help you build a wardrobe you love, that feels tailored just for you.
